Meet the Marks is a colorful and whimsical adventure about a family of punctuation marks whose children begin to question their purpose and the boundaries of their surroundings. Each character speaks in conjunction with its function. Missy, the exclamation mark, only speaks in an exclamatory tone and Junior, the question mark, only speaks in the form of a question.

Though it is clear to adults that the characters are punctuation marks, to young children they are simply whimsical characters. Meet the Marks is an engaging read for children, with the added benefit for parents and educators to begin a dialogue that reaches well beyond the story. It is an adventure that reminds us how much we all need each other in the stories of our lives.

What the Mommies and Daddies Think of the Marks...

Kids deserve this book! My daughter, who is 7 years old and a reader, got this book as a gift. She loved it! After "Meeting the Marks" she started to talk about punctuation in other books. Now she is able to recognize the marks and put the right tone when she is reading for us. My husband and I are so impressed that we are buying some copies for friends.  ~ Marianne

So cute! It was so neat to see my 6 year old daughter "get it" as to how each of the characters speaks with respect to their own punctuation mark. Lent to 1st grade classroom teacher & she said the kids "eat it up". Can't wait for the sequel!

A cute little book to introduce punctuation to small children. I love it! It's a quick little read that my four-year-old is already on her way to memorizing after having it read to her a few times. The art work is very fun, too.

Fantastic book! We love the characters as well as fun and educational purpose behind this book. My five years old loves all the characters and for the first time, I was able to introduce to him punctuation from this book. My two years old asks a lot of questions "why?" and he is very fond of Mark Junior.  ~ Tina B.

This is a great book for kids that are learning to read & write. My 5 and 3 year olds loved the story and the brightly colored illustrations. They giggled at the clever story-ending and the plot created the perfect opportunity to discuss punctuation. Very fun book!

Purchased this book for my niece. The book is a quick read, well designed, articulate and best of all a great learning device. Meet the Marks is clever and the perfect gift for any child (or adult). We can't wait for the app version!  ~ Evan D.

Great book. Read it to my 18-month old. The imagery was very engaging to him and it was a quick read that kept his attention from start to finish. Definitely recommended.  ~ Katie N.

I have been reading "Meet the Marks" to my daughter over the last six months and we have been enjoying it so much. My daughter loves the characters and is now interested in learning more about periods, commas, explanation points and question marks- she's even been using them as she practices her own writing! At the end of the book it says "to be continued..." and we are hoping for a second story soon!   ~ Annie Seidman
